Central varsity to function from Dehra, Dharamshala: Minister

The Central University of Himachal Pradesh will function from Dehra and Dharamsala in Kangra district, Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj today informed state Assembly.
Replying to a question of Rakesh Singha (CPIM), he said the state government has transferred land in the name of the Central University at Dehra.
In Dharamsala, the government had earmarked land for the university, but the same has to be transferred yet.
He said the issue of location of main campus of the Central University had been pending for long, but the government will now settle the issue and lay the foundation stone for the Central University in this year.
He asked the members not raise any controversy and let the government set up the Central University.
In reply to another question Rakesh Pathania(BJP) regarding illegal stone crushers in Chakki khad in Kangra district, Industries minister, Bikram Singh said the government was committed to check illegal mining across the state.
The minister said the government will ensure that the blood relations of the defaulters were not be given permission for stone crushers.
He informed the House that 40 stone crushers were running on Chakki Khud in Nurpur and Indora sub divisions and 20 units have been closed.
Earlier, raising the question, Pathania said there was a trend that if one stone crusher of any person is declared illegal, his brother gets the permission to run it in some other name.
