The assurance was given by Union Minister for Road and Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari to BJP MP from Haridwar Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank in Delhi.
Former chief minister Nishank met the Union minister today.
The Haridwar MP took up the issue of construction of a two-lane linear tunnel near Dat Devi temple on NH-72 to replace the single lane, constructed during British era, which often causes long traffic jams.
Nishank told Gadkari that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for replacement of the tunnel with a new one, having two linear lanes, has recently been submitted to his ministry.
The MP also sought funds under CRF (Central Road Fund) for a number of infrastructure projects in his constituency, including a 75-metre span bridge between Roshanabad and Biharigarh near Buggawala village.
