To assist SEIAA, the State Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC) has also been reconstituted for three years, the Union Environment Ministry said in a recent gazette notification.
The authority, which will be headed by retired IAS officer Krishna Mohan Sahni and comprise two other members, will take decision on green clearances to projects based on the SEAC recommendations, it said.
SEAC, comprising eight members, will be chaired by IIT Delhi professor Mukhesh Khare, it added.
The Centre, with prior concurrence of the concerned state governments, constitutes one SEAC for more than one state/UT for reasons of administrative convenience and cost. SEAC/SEIAA are constituted after every three years.
