Centre-states to discuss films and information issues tmrw

After a gap of seven years, the I&B ministry is organising a two day State Information Ministers Conference where Centre and states will discuss issues related to facilitating film shootings, digitisation of cable sector and communication outreach of the government.
The conference will begin tomorrow and I&B minister M Venkaiah Naidu will chair the conference on December 10.
Other key aspects that will be up for discussion is screening of Public Service Awareness Films especially in cinema halls, etc to take the government's message forward.
Among the issues to be discussed with States are facilitation of film shootings, National Film Heritage Mission, Films Screen Density issue, Copyright and Piracy issues, Roadmap for Digitisation of Cable TV, Issues pertaining to Cable TV Network act, Roadmap for Community Radio, Supreme Court directions on Government advertisements, etc.
The two-day conference will promote partnership in the dissemination process between Centre and States, enabling effective communication to the people and on sector specific collaboration in the Films, Broadcasting and Information sectors, a statement released here said.
Being organised after 2009, the conference will deliberate on key policy issues in the Films and Broadcasting sector and new key initiatives undertaken in the information domain, it added.
The conference is being organised on the theme - 'Reform, Perform and Transform - A New Dimension of Communication'.
