In a bid to expand the market for children's films and encourage talent, Children's Film Society of India (CFSI) and Udaipur district administration in Rajasthan have jointly organised a three-day National Children's Film Festival (NCFF) in the city of lakes commencing tomorrow.
The three-day festival will begin on March 29 at PVR Cinema (Celebration Mall), INOX Cinema (City Palace Mall), Ashoka Cinema and Picture Place Udaipur.
In the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cleanliness drive announcement and in keeping with his vision, CFSI has announced the central theme of the festival as 'Swachhta', a release said here.
The NCFF has garnered eyeballs and participation from Bollywood A-listers like Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha who extended their good wishes to CFSI and NCFF through video bytes.
Actor Faisal Khan (Maharana Pratap of small screen) will be the Guest of Honour for the event and would likely be taking acting workshop for kids of Udaipur, the release said.
Talking about the festival, Dr Shravan Kumar, CEO, CFSI said, "Our earlier experience with NCFF in Delhi was highly successful and we are extremely happy to launch another edition of this festival now in Udaipur."
"Various initiatives driven by CFSI and workshop being organized at NCFF will encourage the children in learning about films and film-making. At CFSI, we have always believed in triggering the creative faculties of children by giving them access to high-quality edutainment through our films," he said.
During the festival, 27 films will be screened (both live action & animation) with the latest CFSI film 'Ek Tha Bhujang' leading the pack.
For the benefit of children in rural areas of Udaipur where theatres are not available, CFSI has made special arrangements with the Co-ordination of Education Department to conduct shows of CFSI's latest and award winning films through LCD projectors in school premises itself.
