Chana prices on Friday drifted lower by 0.37 per cent to Rs 3,990 per quintal in futures trade as participants cut down their holdings due to muted demand at spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in November contracts was trading lower by Rs 15, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 3,990 per quintal with an open interest of 45,760 lots.
Chana to be delivered in December contracts also shed Rs 8, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 4,023 per quintal in 30,450 lots.
Traders attributed the fall in chana prices at futures trade to offloading of bets by speculators low demand at the spot markets.
