In Haryana, Hisar reeled under piercing chill at 3.1 deg C, down three notches than normal, while Ambala's minimum settled at 3.5 deg C, also down three degrees than normal level, the MeT Department said.
Chandigarh recorded its coldest night of the season so far as temperature dipped four degrees below normal, officials said.
The temperature in Karnal settled at 4 deg C, two degrees below normal, they said.
Ambala, Hisar, Karnal, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala were among other places in the two states which remained engulfed by fog early today.
For the past few days, foggy weather has adversely affected normal movement of road, rail and air traffic in the region.
