Amid much fanfare and chaos, the first Delhi edition of India Bridal Fashion Week (IBFW) kick started here tonight with designers J J Valaya and Shantanu-Nikhil's high end couture collection.
Valaya's show titled 'The Maharaja Of Madrid', which was scheduled to start at 8 pm, was two hours late leaving the guests and media agitated.
Due to the high turnout, many people were left standing to watch Valaya's opening show, which was inspired by Indo-Spanish culture.
"We have an invite for the show which clearly suggests row number and seat but we still had to stand and watch it. After waiting for two hours and standing for an hour, I am highly disappointed," said an angry guest.
As the seating began for the event, it was designer's VVIP guests who were allowed to enter the show area first, leaving many invitees and media people stranded outside for about an hour.
The event also witnessed an argument between the organisers and media for not reserving seats for the scribes to watch the show.
"They say two rows had been reserved for media but when they allowed me to enter, there were guests sitting on them (seats). The organisers asked me to stand and watch the show. It was a mismanaged event," said a journalist.
However, when approached the organisers they said they are following instructions and cannot do much about it.
