Charge sheet filed in Sattor torture case

The CID today submitted a charge sheet in a court here in connection with the alleged torture of a woman by policemen on January 17 at Sattor village in Birbhum district.
Haitunnesha Bibi, a resident of Sattor village under Panrui Police Station, was allegedly tortured by a team of policemen at her parents' house at nearby Kalamdanga village.
Bibi is the relative of a BJP activist of the area wanted by police in connection with a bomb attack on a TMC worker.
The then police superintendent of Birbhum, Alok Rajoria, had ordered in investigation against 12 police personnel, including SI Kartik Mohan Ghosh. Ghosh was later suspended.
Kuntal Chatterjee, assistant public prosecutor of the CJM's court, Suri, said the charge sheet was filed before the court of CJM Justice Indranil Chatterjee in a sealed envelope.
