A vigilance court today framed charges against former Ranchi Mayor Rama Khalkho and two others on charges of trading cash for votes during mayoral elections in 2013.
The court of Mohammad Shakir framed the charges against the trio.
On April 7, 2013, the police had seized Rs 21.9 lakh in cash from a hotel in Ranchi.
The seizure was made a day before mayoral elections and an FIR was registered against Khalkho, Congress leader Niranjan Sharma and his alleged associate Sudhir Kumar Sahu.
Khalkho, who absconded following the incident, subsequently surrendered to the court.
All the three accused are on bail now.
