The charred body of a 22-year-old man was found inside his car near the place of cremation of his mother in Latur district of Maharashtra, police said Monday.
The charred remains of Gajanan Kondalwade were found Sunday night inside his burnt SUV in Tajband shivar (field) in Ahmedpur village of the district, around 480 kms from here, a local police officer said.
The vehicle was found parked near the funeral pyre of Kondalwade's mother, who was cremated on Saturday (January 12), said Ahmedpur police station inspector Vikas Jadhav.
The officer said police are investigating whether it was a case of suicide or murder.
"We have registered a case of unnatural death and further investigation is on," he said.
