The half burnt body of Avinash Gupta was found on the roof top of one Prakash Chawla on Thursday and a case under section 302 of CrPC was lodged in this connection against Chawla and his daughter, said Superintendent of Police (rural) S K Sinha.
The body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem, he said adding no arrests have been made so far.
"We are investigating the matter and waiting for the post-mortem report before making any comment," Sinha said when asked about the incident.
Meanwhile, the East Singhbhum district committee of JMM has demanded mmediate arrest of the culprit in connection with Gupta's killing.
