The who's who of hospitality fraternity joined hands for the charity lunch for the school children of HOPE Tigri School.
"It's always great to do things beyond your regular work schedule. To add to that, getting to be a part of a good cause only makes you happier about things.
"Everyone was keen to be a part of the event," Chef Davinder Kumar, President Indian Culinary Forum (ICF), said.
Hosted by the ICF and Child Foundation, the gourmet meal according to Chef Davinder was made by "renowned five-star chefs with love and affection second to none".
With over 300 students in the school from nursery to class seven, the chefs educated students on the concept of "hygiene" while also facing questions about their profession.
"These children come from a very humble background. With this imitative, they will obviously enjoy the meal but they will also get to know about the profession of chefs.
"I guess many of them are seeing someone wearing the chef court and hat for the first time in their life. This experience will stay with them for long," P Chandrasekaran, Senior Programme Director, Hope Foundation, said.
"We prepared a lecture on hygiene for these students. We believe that 'Swacchh Bharat' starts from home and to be more precise from one's kitchen. I guess we were able to spread the message on this count.
"However, what was interesting was their interest in cooking. Their queries related to our profession were very thoughtful," he added.
