Kerala PCC chief Ramesh Chennithala today had a meeting with party President Sonia Gandhi in the backdrop of the solar panel scam allegedly involving some members of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's personal staff.
"I apprised her of all political developments in the state during the meeting," he said in reply to a volley of questions whether the issue figured during the talks.
This was the first meeting Chennithala had with Gandhi after the solar panel scam controversy broke out with the Opposition LDF unleashing a strong campaign within and outside the state assembly demanding Chandy's resignation.
The scam pertains to two accused cheating a large number of people of hefty amounts by offering them solar energy solutions.
A personal assistant and a gun man in the Chief Minster's Office were removed from Chandy's personal staff a week back after they were found to have engaged in frequent telephonic talks with Saritha Nair, an accused in the solar panel scam.
Opposition has alleged that Chandy's close aide in Delhi had also link with the accused in the solar panel scam.
Saritha and her accomplice Biju Radhakrishnan, have been arrested and remanded in custody.
The Opposition has been disrupting the House since last week demanding resignation of Chandy over the issue which the latter has rejected categorically.
Chandy has been asserting that he had not done any wrong.
