"We are expecting over 500 participants at the event from across the country, about 250 of whom will be from Gujarat," said Ankit Dalal, an organiser of the event.
The five-day long tournament, being organised at SGVP International School, has cash prize purse of Rs 9 lakh, across 73 categories.
The event has been divided in two parts-The Brain Power U-2000 International Rating Tournament and The Brain Power Blitz Rating Tournament, which will be played as per the norms of the World Chess Federation, the organisers said.
