"I convey my greetings to the AIADMK and its General Secretary Selvi (Ms) Jayalalithaa," he said.
Though the DMK-Congress coalition could not win enough seats to form government, it gave satisfaction that "it has won approximately 100 seats," he said in a statement here.
In his native Sivaganga, he said out of the six Assembly segments, DMK has won in three, and Congress one.
Of the 41 seats the Congress had contested from the DMK-led alliance, the party had won in eight segments.
Meanwhile, the Nadigar Sangam (south Indian Artistes' Association) greeted Jayalalithaa for winning a successive term.
