One child succumbed to swine flu and other complications here last week, but there is no cause for alarm, a senior health official of Telangana government said today.
"Some positive cases (of swine flu) are being reported. It's not unusual (for cases to be reported in summer). There is no cause for alarm. Protocols to be followed are there," Rajeshwar Tiwari, Health Secretary, told PTI.
The child died day before yesterday and a report on the death would be obtained, he said.
The report would be on the health status of the child and others, he said.
Testing kits and medicines for swine flu are available at all levels of government hospitals, the official said.
According to a bulletin on swine flu issued on April 7, as many as 9,127 samples had been tested from August 1, 2016 to April 6, 2017 and 1,309 among them were found positive for the H1N1 virus.
