Chilli, turmeric up on restricted supply

Red chilli and turmeric prices moved up by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today largely influenced by fall in supplies from producing belts against increased buying by retailers and stockists.
Besides, firming trend in futures market supported the uptrend.
Red chilli and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 each to to settle at Rs 8,200-13,200 and Rs 7,200-11,700 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up chilli and turmeric prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today's quotations:
Ajwain (per kg) 140-200, black pepper (per kg) 760-940, betel-nut (kg) 280-330, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,470-1,490 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,570-1,680.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 750-800, cardamom (colour robin) 650-670, cardamom bold 670-700, cardamom extra (bold) 870-890 and cloves 725-840.
