Patna Meteorological Centre has forecast that residents of major parts of Bihar are likely to welcome new year with dense foggy morning and chilly weather conditions.
"There would be cold weather conditions in the state including the state capital due to the chilly wind coming from Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh which have witnessed snowfall. It would cause shivering as the temperature is likely to fall further," MeT official said.
Residents of Patna woke up amid dense fog.
According to MeT bulletin, the minimum temperature recorded at Patna was 11.2 degrees Celsius against yesterday's 10.7 degrees Celsius, while the maximum was registered at 18.4 degrees Celsius against yesterday's 20.2 degrees Celsius.
Both maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 18 and 11 degrees Celsius respectively tomorrow, an official said.
