China anti-graft chief advocates strict code of conduct in CPC

Calling for strict code of conduct in the ruling Communist Party, China's top anti-corruption official Wang Qishan has asked "good comrades" not to be afraid of complaining about corrupt colleagues.
Wang, who is spearheading the anti-corruption campaign launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping, stressed that the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) should be governed strictly with all members adhering to the code of conduct.
In order to implement the code of conduct, CPC members must be self critical, and not afraid to inform on the dereliction of duty or untoward behaviour of fellow members, state-run Xinhua news agency quoted Wang as saying.

Wang said it was high time that a distinction be made between "good comrade" or "prisoners" who should be snuffed out.
Wang, chief of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the comments at a seminar attended by party members and the public during his inspection tour of Fujian Province from Thursday to Saturday.
He said strict party governance should not equate to anti-corruption, although the latter forms an important part of the former.
The party code of conduct has a prominent role in governing the party, he added.
Hundreds of officials including top CPC leaders and several top military officials have been punished for corruption and irregularities as part of the massive anti-graft campaign.
