Chinese national held for trying to smuggle red sanders

Two persons, including a Chinese national, were arrested today while trying to smuggle out red sander logs near Anjimedu forests, about 30 kms from here, police said.
On a tip off, a special police team kept vigil on the movements of the duo and seized about 1.5 tonnes of red sanders and arrested them, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Mohanty told reporters.
The two were identified as Nagoor Meeran of Tamil Nadu and Lin Wenbn from Fujiun province of China, Mohanty said.
