Chiragh had clinched the BILT Open title last year after finishing second at the prestigious Indian Open and the 28-year-old Delhi golfer will once again look to set the course on fire.
The field for the Rs 1 crore prize money event also includes two-time Asian Tour winner Jyoti Randhawa, 2009 Third Annual Asia Pacific Amateur Championship winner Mithun Perera and Digvijay Singh, who won the Panasonic Open this year, among others.
"I do have some past good performances in the course. And it adds to your confidence but at the same time, I don't want to take things lightly. I will look to play my usual golf, if I can do that I will be happy," said Chiragh, who will tee off with Mandeo Singh Pathania and Ranjit Singh.
On the eve of the BILT Open, MD & CEO of Ballarpur International Graphic Paper Holdings B V (BIGPH), Yogesh Agarwal also announced its commitment for the next three years.
"With a prize purse of Rs 1 crore and prominent players at Delhi's premier golf course, we expect BILT Open to generate greater interest in professional golf, among the players, sponsors and viewers," Agarwal said.
Padamjit Sandhu, Director, PGTI said: "The 2012 edition of the BILT Open will feature the cream of Indian professional golf. We thank BILT for its strong support to Indian professional golf that has contributed towards the sustained growth of the sport in the country over the last six years."
The tournament is scheduled from October 10 to 13, with the Pro-Am being played on the 14th of this month. The event will be played at the esteemed DGC for the first time.
