The company currently has about 8.50 lakh motor insurance customers and the application would be available for both Android and iOS supported smartphones, Cholamandalam MS General Insurance, Managing Director, S S Gopalarathnam said.
"We want to target the private car customers who comprise about 1.60 lakh of the total 8.50 lakh motor insurance customers," he told PTI here.
According to him, the app would provide customers details about the policy coverage, total sum insured, renewal reminder and free driving tips.
The company achieved a gross written premium of Rs 1,855 crore in 2013-14 and eyes Rs 2,500 crore in 2014-15.
