Citigroup sells Havells India 61 lakh shares worth Rs 178-cr

Foreign fund house Citigroup Global Markets Mauritius today offloaded 61 lakh shares of Havells India, an electrical and power distribution equipment firm, for over Rs 178 crore through an open market transaction.
However, the buyer(s) of the shares could not be ascertained immediately.
According to bulk deal data available with the stock exchanges, Citigroup sold a total of 61 lakh shares, amounting to 0.97 per cent stake, of Havells India.
The shares were offloaded on an average price of Rs 292.03, valuing the transaction at Rs 178.14 crore.
As of September quarter, Citigroup held 1.87 crore shares or three per cent stake in the electrical and power distribution equipment company.

Shares of Havells India today closed 3.82 per cent higher at Rs 299.95 apiece on the BSE.
