To mark the globalisation of the show business industry here, two finalists of a leading model hunt contest will now cruise into the global Max Fashion Show as wild card entries.
"Of the 12 city girls, having been chosen as the Fface of Kolkata 2015, two will be automatically selected for the Max fashion show, Delhi edition to be held shortly later," the director of Fface talent hunt Neil Roy told PTI here last night.
Neil, who informed the Max initiative was in collaboration with an international fashion magazine, said the two girls can also be featured in the magazine's page in future as part of the contestants.
The two contestants will be mentored by renowed fashion director-choreographer Marc Robinson, Neil said.
The 12 girls, from different divergent backgrounds including mediaperson Kinkini Dasgupta, had been picked up by an esteemed panel of director Raj Chakraborty, ace designer Sharbari Datta, Mrs India International Riecha Sharma, critically acclaimed actor Sayani Datta, award winner film producer Satrajit Sen and others.
Asked if the Fface calendar launch at The Park, the first such concept in Kolkata featuring upcoming models, was the eastern version of the calendar launch of a prominent liquor major, Neil said, "It is our attempt to give a push to the modelling and fashion industry which is flourishing locally but need to be packaged and marketed on the national and global platform.
"We all know girls here are beautiful, fashion conscious and have confidence but what most of them need is attitude and poise and articulation and a proper platform," he said.
Actor Sayani, having woowed audiences in Na Hanyate and Jijibisa among others, said, "It was remarkable change how the girls blossomed into confident women in past few months. They have the sparkle.
