The Telangana Civil Supplies Corporation Board has decided to establish a 'Business Wing' andappoint a consultancy firm to study and propose a business modelfor it.
"In the board meeting yesterday, it was decided to appoint a consultancy firm to study and propose a business model for a separate wing," an official release said here.
With the increase in irrigation facilities, large tracts of land would come under cultivation and this would also increase the yield, it said,adding that in this season itself, the Corporation purchased 54 lakh tons of paddy. With more land being cultivated, yield would also increase, it said.
The Corporation was making plans to make sure farmers get Minimum Support Price forpaddy, for which a 'Business Wing' would be set up to explore the possibilities of paddy purchase from farmers and send to other states and countries, it said.
Rationalisation of finances and financial planning has been taken up in the Civil Supplies Corporation,towards which the Board decided to appoint a Third Party independent team to study and suggest improvements, it said.
The Board meeting also decided to completely ban use of plastic in the Corporation and to make it plastic free, the release added.
