Clashes in central DR Congo leave 23 dead: Kasai official

Twenty-three people died in weekend clashes in Congo's central Tshikapa region between police and local militia, the deputy governor of Kasai province said today.
Fighting from Friday to Sunday between police and troops and members of a local militia left "13 dead and 14 injured among security forces and killed 10 militia" fighters, Hubert Mbingho N'Vula said on state television.
