Class VI student sexually assaulted by his classmates

A class VI student of a well known school in Central Delhi was allegedly confined and sexually assaulted by his six minor classmates, who have been apprehended and sent to juvenile home, police said today.
The incident, which took place last week, came to light after the victim apprised his parents who lodged a complaint after which the six minor accused were apprehended, police said.
"The crime allegedly took place at the school hours on October 17 when its principal and teachers were present there," said a senior police officer.
The victim was briefly confined by the accused in the classroom as the teacher in the last period of the day was absent and allegedly sexually abused, he said.

"The accused also threatened him to not to report the matter either to his parents or the school authorities," he said.
Parents of the victim and accused as well as school authorities have been asked to join the probe, the officer said.
Police registered a case immediately after getting the complaint and the accused were apprehended and sent to the juvenile home.
The case will be heard by a Juvenile Justice Board, he added.
