A class VII student of a private school here was allegedly molested by her computer teacher inside the school.
According to the police, the incident came to light yesterday when the victim narrated the incident to her parents. The victim's family informed the school management and lodged a complaint, a senior officer said.
Acting on the complaint, an FIR was registered at Anand Parbat police station against the accused teacher, police said.
The victim's family told police that the accused was molesting their daughter for the past several months and has also allegedly molested many girl students of the school but no one came in public.
"My daughter was hesitating to go to for her computer classes. When we questioned her, she narrated the entire incident," the victim's father said.
Parents of other students along with the victim's relative today staged a protest outside the school demanding immediate action against the accused.
According to the school authorities, they have done a tie-up with a renowned private computer institute for computer classes. The accused teacher was associated with the computer institute and not with the school.
Condemning the incident, the school authorities have terminated the service of the accused teacher after the case was reported.
Police has registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Anand Parbat police station.
The teacher has been detained and police is questioning him.
