But in another poll, she lags behind Trump in some of the key states like Florida and Pennsylvania.
As per McClatchy-Marist poll, Clinton (42 per cent) holds a lead of three point over Trump (39 per cent).
Notably for the first time this poll has shown Clinton falling below 50 per cent mark in the last year.
Among the independents Clinton has support of 36 per cent while 33 per cent support Trump and 23 per cent have not made up their mind yet, the poll said.
Quinnipiac University which released its latest polls said that Trump has overtaken Clinton in Florida and also has a lead in another swing state of Pennsylvania.
The race is tied in another key state of Ohio.
In Florida, Trump has support of 42 per cent, while Clinton is favored by 39 per cent.
While the latest poll might show the two leaders within a margin of error, but it is not seen as a good sign by the Clinton campaign. Last month, Clinton led 47 to 39 per cent.
"Trump is a serious danger, folks," he said.
Trump on the other hand said "Thank You" on twitter.
