Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said she was "surprised" by the FBI's decision to reopen its investigations into her alleged email scandal that has rocked her presidential campaign ahead of the general elections.
"Of course, I was surprised," Clinton told the PEOPLE magazine in its latest weekly issue.
However, the 69-year-old former secretary of state said the move is unlikely to have an impact on the election results, adding that she is determined not to be distracted in final week of the campaign by the noise of the latest development.
"I think the American people made up their minds about my emails a long time ago," she said. "There have been a lot of ups and downs in this campaign, and through it all, I've always been focused on one thing: the American people."
"Your lives, your families, the problems that keep you up at night," she said.
"That's what we're focused on in these final days, because that's what this election is really about. It's not about the noise and distractions. It's about what kind of country we want for our kids, and what kind of president can get us there," Clinton said.
Meanwhile, the Fox news reported that the FBI is giving "a very high priority" to its investigations into the Clinton Foundation.
"There is an avalanche of new information coming in every day," one unidentified FBI source told Fox News.
Some of the new information is coming from the WikiLeaks documents and new emails, he added.
FBI agents are "actively and aggressively pursuing this case," and will be going back and interviewing the same people again, some for the third time, the report said quoting unnamed sources.
In an interview to Fox News, Eric Trump, son of Donald Trump said that it is "unthinkable" about a presidential candidate under FBI investigation.
"We have so many problems as a nation. The last thing that we need is this distraction," he said.
"You see these games going on - You see Donna Brazile giving Hillary Clinton the debate questions. You see these people behind the scenes making fun of Christians and evangelicals," Trump said.
"You see the president emailing back and forth on a private server to Hillary and the cover-ups... You really see the corruption of the Clinton campaign," he said.
