Acting on a tip-off, sleuths of City Crime Bureau (CCB) yesterday picked up Vishal C Uchil from his apartment at Pumpwell area in Ashok Nagar here, police said.
Police said he was arrested with live ammunition. Four mobile phones and five bullets were also seized from him.
He has been accused of collecting landline and mobile phone numbers of affluent businessmen and builders and passing them on to Pujari, who is allegedly controlling criminal and exaction activities here from his base abroad, for the purpose of extortion.
