CM announces hike of Rs 200 per month in special pay of drivers

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today announced hike in the special pay of drivers of the state government from Rs 800 to Rs 1,000 per month and in the uniform allowance from Rs 200 to Rs 300.

Speaking at a seminar of the Government and Semi-Government Drivers and Cleaners Federation of Himachal at Sundernagar, he said the finance department had already been directed to clear the pending medical and travelling allowance bills of the drivers and conductors at the earliest.

He announced a grant of two special increments to the drivers of dozers, JCB and plant machines, who have not got the benefit of any promotion during their service period.

Later presiding over a function organised by the Animal Husbandry Employees Union at Sundernagar, the chef minister said the state government would soon take a decision on changing the designation of the veterinary pharmacists as veterinary inspectors on the analogy of Punjab government besides fulfilling other genuine demands.

Earlier, the chief minister laid the foundation stone of first phase of parking for Sundernagar town to be constructed at a cost of Rs 6.36 crore and the foundation stone of Poultry Farm Farmer Training Centre at sub divisional veterinary hospital, Sundernagar which will cost Rs 1.79 crore.
