Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today inaugurated the newly built smart terminal of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and flagged off a tanker at Anigada in Khunti district.
Expressing his gratitude to the Prime Minister and Petroleum Minister for the project, the chief minister said the Paradip-Raipur-Ranchi pipeline, which would link Ranchi and Raipur from Paradip covering three states Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Odisha, has been dedicated to the nation.
The Prime Ministers concept was to improve connectivity whether it is through pipeline, road, gas or connectivity with people, an official release said quoting Das.
Built at a cost of Rs 191 crore and over a stretch of 32-acre of land, the petroleum products will reach Khunti through the Paradeep-Raipur-Ranchi pipeline, which has a length of 1073 km.
The petroleum products could now be supplied to about 12 district of the state through the terminal including Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, East and West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharswan, Garwah, Ramgarh.
The chief minister said no doubt, the terminal will be helpful in changing the economic and social scenario of the state as well as the country and also create direct and indirect employment.
IOC sources said the terminal has the storage capacity of 88481 KL and the products to be handled are petrol, diesel and kerosene.
