Speaking to reporters here, he said former union minister Janardhan Poojary would preside over the ceremony. The grand Mangalore Dasara would be held for 10 days from September 25 to October 5.
The decorated mantap's of Sharada Devi and nine deities of Goddess Durga would be worshipped for nine days. Mangalore Dasara is being held in the city for the last 23 years.
A procession to immerse the idols would be held under the leadership of Poojary on Oct 4, he said. The procession route would be decorated with 20 lakh electric lamps and cultural teams would perform on all the days of the celebration.
