The seized drug was hidden in a consignment of Nylon pipes, used in industries for various purposes, which has to be sent to Canada, custom officials said.
"The officials have yesterday seized 4.8 kg cocaine in a consignment which was to be shipped to Canada. The drug was hidden in Nylon pipes," Additional Commissioner of Customs at cargo terminal, IGI, K K Katheria said.
The consignment was booked by a person said to be living in Moradabad, he said.
Custom officials were also questioning a courier company which had booked the consignment.
A kilogram of cocaine is valued about Rs five crore in the international market.
Incidentally, the drug which has been commonly found in powder form was being smuggled through the courier in gel form.
In a similar catch, custom officials had last month seized cocaine worth Rs 25 crore, kept in packets of snacks, from the IGI.
