Cold conditions continue in Punjab,Haryana

Cold conditions continued to prevail in several parts of Punjab and Haryana with mercury dropping by few notches below normal in both states.
Karnal in Haryana was the coldest place in the region as it recorded a minimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal, a MeT department report said.
Ambala's low settled at 5.1 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal while the minimum temperatures at Hisar, Narnaul, and Bhiwani were recorded at 7, 5.5 and 10.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
Union Territory Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana had a low of 6.5 degrees Celsius. However, the city witnessed bright sunshine this morning, providing some relief to people from cold weather.
In neighbouring Punjab, Amritsar's low was recorded at 5.2 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their minimum at 4.8 and 6.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
Yesterday, the maximum temperatures remained between 19 and 21 degrees Celsius in most parts of Punjab and Haryana.
