Cold conditions prevail in Pb, Haryana

Cold conditions prevailed in most parts of Punjab and Haryana today with minimum temperatures hovering few notches below normal in both the states.
Narnaul in Haryana was the coldest place as it recorded the minimum at 3.6 degrees Celsius, one notch below normal, the MeT department said.
Residents of Amritsar, which had yesterday recorded the lowest temperature of 2.6 degrees Celsius, braved the cold at 4 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal.
Ludhiana, the industrial hub of Punjab, registered a low of 7.1 degrees Celsius while Patiala had a low of 8.5 degrees Celsius, which was two notches above normal.
In Haryana, Hisar and Ambala recorded lows of 4.7 degrees Celsius and 8.4 degrees Celsius, respectively, while Karnal shivered at 4 degrees Celsius.
UT Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, registered a minimum of 8.2 degrees Celsius.
Weather is forecast to be dry in the two northern states in the next 24 hours while moderate to dense fog is likely to occur at isolated places.
