Cold wave continues in Raj; affects rail traffic

Cold wave conditions prevailed in most parts of Rajasthan today even as foggy weather affected rail traffic in the region.
Chittorgarh was recorded as the coldest place in the state recording a minimum of 6.6 degrees Celsius followed by Churu where the night temperature was 7.5 degrees Celsius, according to the MeT department here.
Jodhpur, Barmer, Eranpura road in Pali, Pilani, Jalore, Jaipur, Bikaner and Sriganganagar recorded minimum of 7 degrees Celsius, 7.6 degrees Celsius, 8.2 degrees Celsius, 9 degrees Celsius, 9.1 degrees Celsius, 9.5 degrees Celsius, 9.6 degrees Celsius and 9.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Vanasthali, Bundi, Ajmer and Sikar registered night temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius, 10.5 degrees Celsius, 11.3 degrees Celsius and 12.6 degrees Celsius, it said.
Dense fog continued to affect movement of trains in the northern region.
North Western Railway (NWR) rescheduled three trains Jodhpur-Varanasi, Ajmer-Sealdah and Jaipur-Allahabad express, while 15 other trains including Allahabad-Jaipur, Delhi-Jodhpur, Delhi-Bikaner express trains are also running late.
