Collector wants maximum teachers to enrol for MLC polls

Thane Collector Dr Mahendra Kalyankar today said efforts were underway to enroll maximum teachers in the district for the upcoming MLC election from the Konkan Division teachers' constituency.
He said creation of the voters' list was in process and expected maximum number of teachers from the district to get enrolled and cast their votes in the polls.
The draft electoral roll for the constituency will be published next month and the final one will be published in December, he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy District Election Officer Farogh Mukadam said teaching staff from all educational institutions aided or non-aided, but for those from the primary section, are eligible for voting.

Mukadam held a meeting of education officers of the zilla parishad, municipal corporation and some educational institutes representatives yesterday and explained the procedure to be followed for the enumeration.
The term of present MLC representing Konkan Division Teachers' constituency, Ramnath Mote, ends on December 5.
