committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of a market complex in Bistupur here today, apparently because of failing to do well in her examinations, the police said.
Shilpi Mahato, who was from Chaibasa and was living with her maternal uncle in Uliyan here for her studies, leapt from the fourth floor of Yashkamal Building.
She was taken to Tata Main Hospital and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit but died in the evening, hospital sources said.
The result of the Jharkhand Academic council was published yesterday and her result was not good, the sources said.
