The girl, a student of Bsc (Part II), was eve-teased by the accused when she was watering plants at her house at Chand Colony in the area here on the evening of July 9, they said.
When the girl's parents objected, the miscreants abused them and beat them up. They even molested the victim.
Later, when they approached police on July 10, the officials instead of registering a case, forced them to sign a mutual agreement with the culprits.
However, only after the intervention of senior police officials, a case of molestation under section 354 of IPC was registered today.
Meanwhile, efforts are on to nab the absconding accused, police added.
