Police sources said the girl, a BA student of Domjur College, was found hanging from the ceiling of her room on February 8.
However, her body was buried without police being informed in the nearby Burial Ground.
On getting the information from various sources, police initiated a case on its own after taking local court's consent and exhumed the body in presence of a magistrate yesterday.
The body has been sent for autopsy.
