The 17-member high-powered inter-ministerial committee will take into account all the technical, financial and administrative aspects on how to decongest Delhi and will submit its report along with proposed action plan by the first week of November, said a senior Urban Development Ministry.
The committee has been set up following the direction of Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu who wants necessary measures to be taken to improve mobility in the national capital, he said.
The committee, to be chaired by the Urban Development Secretary has Chairman of Railway Board, Defence Secretary, Road Transport Secretary, Home Secretary or their representatives as members.
The other members of the committee include Chairman of National Highway Authority, Delhi government's PWD Principal Secretary, Transport Commissioner, DDA Vice-Chairman, Member Secretary, National Capital Region Planning Board and Delhi Police Commissioner.
NDMC Chairman, Commissioners of North and South Delhi and MD of DMRC are also members of the committee.
