An NGO today alleged several irregularities in the process of building the proposed airport at Hollongi in Arunachal Pradesh and urged the committee, constituted by the Itanagar bench of the Gauhati High court, to inquire them.
Acting on a PIL filed by the NGO 'Banderdewa Circle Intellectual Forum', the three-member committee led by retired Justice A C Upadhayay has been formed recently to go into the merit of the state government's decision to shift the site of the proposed airport from Karsingsa to Hollongi.
In a release here, the Forum alleged that high profile names appeared on the compensation list for the Hollongi site, which "is a refugee notified area."
It also alleged that an area measuring 44,245 sq mt in the new site was not reflected in the compensation list and urged the committee to find out who actually owned the area.
The forum further alleged that land acquisition process was carried out in Hollongi even though the land belonged to the government.
