The five member drafting committee appointed by the coordination committee of the ruling JDS-Congress coalition in Karnataka to prepare a Common Minimum Programme is likely to come out with a final draft on June 29.

"On June 29 at 4:30 PM,we will again meet and on that day, we will try to give final shape to it (draft of Common Minimum Programme)," drafting committee member and senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily said.

Speaking to reporters after attending the second meeting of the committee here, he said several issues, including farm loan waiver, were discussed.

The coordination committee of the ruling JDS-Congress had decided to appoint a drafting committee to prepare a Common Minimum Programme for governance that would have salient features of their election manifestos.

While revenue minister R V Deshpande and water resources minister D K Shivkumar are the other two members from Congress side along with Moily, JD(S) is represented by PWD minister H D Revanna and Cooperation Minister Bandeppa Kashempur.

Stating that a few things are still under discussion, Moily said both JD(S) and Congress manifestos are being discussed in detail to bring out a common programme that can be implemented in next five years.

Once the drafting committee submits its draft to the coordination committee, it is expected to approve it after discussion.

The coordination committee comprises Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC chief G Parameshwara, former Chief Minister and CLP leader Siddaramaiah, Congress General Secretary Venugopal and JD(S) Secretary General Danish Ali.

While Siddaramaiah is chairman of the coordination committee, Ali is convener of the coalition coordination committee.

The common minimum programme that is being drafted assumes significance ahead of the coalition government's first budget on July 5.
