Conditions favourable for SW monsoon in UP: MeT office

The southwest monsoon has reached Uttar Pradesh and conditions will remain favourable for further advance of the seasonal wind in the remaining parts, MeT office said.
Moderate to heavy rains accompanied by thundershowers occurred at isolated places over the state during the last 24 hours, it said.
Chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms was at Basti 10, Nazibabad 7, Turtipar, Hata 6 each, Ayodhya, Kakardarighat, Birdghat 5 each, Moradabad, Nazibabad, Rampur, Saharanpur, Gazipur, Regoli, Mukhlispur 3 each, Bareilly, Nakur, Salempur, Mau, Bansi, Lucknow, Moradabad and Ballia 2 each.
The MeT office, in a forecast, said that heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over the state during the next 24 hours.
