Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief Ashok Chavan spoke to the districts chiefs during a meeting here where in prevailing political situation and the organisational matters were discussed.
"Congress is taking up issues concerning people's welfare including the drought in Marathwada. But, the government is not addressing them seriously. Despite, the party taking to the streets to highlight the issues, the government stance has not changed," Chavan said.
According to him, in the next few months, five nagar parishads and 91 nagar panchayats will go to polls.
Chavan took stock of the district wise development works.
