NPCC working president P Ayang Aonok in a memorandum to Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya alleged that Zeliang had furnished false information in the affidavit in Form-26 that he had passed Bachelor of Arts in 1980 while filing his nomination paper before the returning officer for election to the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly from Peren (ST) assembly constituency.
Zeliang had said in his nomination that he had passed BA from Kohima College under North Eastern Hill University in 1980.
It therefore demanded that the Governor set up an inquiry committee immediately to verify the affidavit submitted by Zeliang in Form-26 and other relevant documents.
It also requested that the report be made known to all in the larger interest.
Zeliang, a leader of Nagaland Peoples Front, had assumed office last year after the then Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio moved into national politics in Delhi.
