The former Chief Minister alleged that food grains sent by the Centre to the state under welfare schemes were rotting in warehouses.
Yeddyurappa said the Modi government was procuring rice at Rs 30 per kg and wheat at Rs 22 per kg to give it at a highly subsidisedrate of Rs three per kg and Rs two per kg respectively to theweaker sections.
"However, 38,000 tonnes of wheat and lakhs oftonnes of rice meant for economically weaker section couldnot be distributed in the state and are rotting in warehouses, he said
"Even birds and animals don't eat them now. Governance has collapsed in Karnataka," he alleged .

"Our national president Amit Shah will flag off the Yatra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the concludingceremony of the Yatra on January 28. We should strive to make the event successful," he said.
